The Process with All-In Northern Mediation
Making Sure Mediation is Right for You:
Prior to any mediation session, you and the other party/s will each meet individually in Pre-mediation with the mediator.
Pre-mediation is your opportunity to speak confidentially about your circumstance, and to provide your thoughts on why mediation may be right for you.
In order to make an informed decision on proceeding, mediations' role in resolving issues will be explained. And, regardless of whether or not mediation is entered into, you may be provided with other resources or referrals to assist you.
Any concerns, including those on confidentiality and costs, can be addressed during pre-mediation and at any time throughout the process.
Going Ahead with Mediation:
Mediation can commence following the voluntary signing of an Agreement to Mediate made between the mediator and all parties.
Your experience in mediation will be unique, as are the needs of each party and the issues to be resolved. The mediator is there to facilitate respectful and open communication, keep things on track, and address any concerns or problems.
A collaborated, fair, realistic, and honoured agreement, expressed through a Memorandum of Understanding, is the result of successful mediation.
Even though (or because) it's about fair play, it's important for each of us to look out for our interests. You are strongly encouraged to seek independent legal advice at any time during the mediation process and prior to signing any agreement.
First there's Congratulations on a job well done!
The next part is up to you. The good news about reaching a mediated agreement is that it's yours; it makes sense, is easy to follow, and has a forward focus supporting improved communication and flexibility.
Lastly, even though your Mediation may be "done", you are always welcome to ask for more information or resource referals.
